Artistic Thoughts is an extension of its sister page The State of America.

The Artistic Thoughts aims to offer critical evaluation of the State of America through creative modes of writing. Therefore, the poetry, song, short story, and other genres of creative writing presents issues, problems, and solutions to past, present, and future concerns of American life in a global world community.

For example, mood is a human aspect of both creative writing and societal response to events and issues. The poem, The Master’s Plan, is a type of solution poem. It sets a mood of gloom bordering on depression but reminds the reader that in those natural moments in life returning the source of one’s faith or family ties, or something else that given life-long meaning. Although this poem was a personal response to a personal situation, it could have been in response to 9/11, Katrina’s devastation, or the California fires in 2007.

Another goal of Artistic Thoughts is to offer a venue for artistic writers to share their creative thoughts with the many citizens of the blogosphere and beyond.

Therefore, interested writers are encouraged to submit their written art. There are a few guidelines:

– Themes should be related to the State of America;

– Include an explanation of your work’s meaning, purpose, motivation, etc.

– Edit your own work before submitting it;

– E-mail work to Artistic Thoughts.
